Custom Work
I occasionally take on custom woodworking projects when time, interest, and fit align. Custom work for me is about thoughtful design, clear communication, and building something that will be used and appreciated — not rushing to fill orders.
If you’re considering a custom piece, the information below will help you decide whether it’s a good fit before reaching out.
What I’m Best Suited For
Custom work works best for projects that value simplicity, usefulness, and careful material selection, such as:
Furniture pieces (tables, cabinets, shelving, display cases)
Small built-ins or standalone storage pieces
Thoughtful gift pieces meant for long-term use
Projects that allow for conversation, planning, and a steady pace are where I do my best work.

How I Approach Custom Projects
I’m not a production shop, and I don’t build on tight deadlines. My approach is deliberate and process-focused.
When I take on a custom project, you can expect:
Clear discussion of ideas and expectations
Honest feedback about design and materials
A realistic timeline based on my availability
Careful attention to detail throughout the build
This approach ensures the project stays enjoyable and the finished piece reflects the time invested in it.
Projects I’m Not a Good Fit For
To respect everyone’s time, it’s helpful to know what I generally don’t take on:
Rush jobs or tight deadline projects
Production or batch orders
Large-scale commercial work
Projects that prioritize speed or lowest cost over quality
If your project falls into one of these categories, I may not be the right fit — and that’s okay.

Pricing & Timeline Expectations
Custom woodworking is priced based on materials, complexity, and time involved. Because each project is different, pricing is discussed individually after understanding the scope of work.
Timelines vary depending on current projects and shop schedule. I’ll always be upfront about availability before committing to a project.
How to Reach Out
If, after reading the above, you feel your project might be a good fit, I’d be happy to start a conversation.
When you contact me, it helps to include:
A brief description of the project
Approximate size or dimensions
Intended use and location
Any reference photos or inspiration
Your general timeframe (flexible is best)
You can reach me through the contact page, and I’ll respond as soon as I’m able.
I take on custom work selectively so each project gets the attention it deserves. If we decide to move forward together, you can expect a thoughtful, collaborative process from start to finish.
